In the late 1980s, as drink‑driving laws and random breath testing were introduced across Australia, Gary identified a critical gap while assisting in the operation of his family’s well‑known Perth venue, the Leederville Hotel. At the time, many breathalysers lacked the accuracy, durability and professional standards required for serious safety and enforcement use. This insight led to the development of a wall‑mounted breathalyser that allowed patrons to better understand their legal limit – and ultimately to the establishment of Alcolizer Technology.
